Choose your power:
A general guideline indicates a thrust of 2 lbs per 100 lbs of total weight (boat, fuel, occupants, equipment, etc.). If you frequently fish in strong currents or strong winds, add 10 lbs of thrust.
Shaft length:
Measure from the top of the bow where the engine is mounted to the waterline. Then add fifty centimeters (20'') to this measurement. The ideal length of your tree should be at least equal to the sum of these values.
