The Smart Battery Sense is a wireless temperature and voltage sensor for equipping Victron MPPT solar charger batteries.
With the installation of a voltage and temperature probe, the batteries will charge better, which will improve their charging efficiency and extend their service life.
By measuring the voltage on the terminals of the battery banks, the occurrence of voltage loss errors due to the resistance of the cables is avoided. This therefore makes it possible to guarantee a correct charging voltage.
For lead-acid batteries, battery temperature data is used to adjust charge voltages: cold batteries require a higher charge voltage, while hot batteries require a reduced charge voltage. For lithium batteries, temperature data is used to disable the charging process if these batteries are too cold: charging lithium batteries at or below freezing temperatures may cause permanent damage to the battery. cells.
